I’ve always loved being an entrepreneur—it’s what I was born to do. In fact, I started very young. My very first business was selling hand-sewn toys to classmates in primary school. There was something about being able to bring joy to others that drove me to think of new ideas to do more and make the world a better place. It felt like it was what I was born to do.
Before Perfectly Tea, I started a digital design agency, 500 Designs. Work would start as early as Sunday evening, and end on Friday. For almost a year, I worked 16-20 hours a day. At first, I took everything in stride. I was young and ready to conquer the world. I felt invincible.
However, as time went by, I began to realize that living like that wasn’t really sustainable. Some days, I would be sharp. But others, I would find myself too mentally exhausted to push on.
I felt that if I wasn’t being consistently productive, then I was just wasting time. So I decided to change my lifestyle. I created a routine with the goal of making myself more alert and mentally prepared. I started focusing on what I eat, improving the quality of my sleep, and practicing mindfulness.
It was a transformative experience that pushed me to become even more productive than I already was.
I realised that we often underestimate just how important our relationship with our body is, in terms of being able to fulfil our potential. The more we take care of it, the more we can achieve.
I knew then that this was something I had to share with others that were going through the same experience. So as 500 Designs started to run its course, I started thinking more about how I can achieve that goal.
I became very passionate in helping entrepreneurs like myself, live a healthy and balanced lifestyle. It is with that mission and mindset, that I started Perfectly Tea.
